DebbieTannert
Debbie Tannert is a music educator with 23 years elementary classroom experience. She has extensive experience writing for National textbook publications and the Music Memory Bulletin. She holds a Bachelors of Music Education from The University of Texas at Austin and is a National Board Certified Teacher. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University.

She is the proud parent of Christina and Jonathan. Christina, a sophomore Music Education Major at Trinity University, is excited about becoming a choir director. Jonathan, a sophomore at Bowie HS, enjoys playing electric guitar in the Jazz Band and singing baritone in the Choir.

She has served TMEC as the Government/Relations Chairperson and President Elect. She has presented TMEC sponsored sessions at the TMEA Convention and Clinic and has been a member of NAfME for 20 years.

About TMEC
TMEC is the state affiliate of NAfME: National Association for Music Education (www.NAfME.org). Currently TMEC has 1,542 members, including university faculty and administrators, retired and active teachers in the orchestra, band, elementary and vocal divisions as well as collegiate and Tri-M members.

Support of collegiate members and initiatives
Retention and professional development
Networking with other music and arts organizations and Organizational/Governance stability.
